Joanna Lam is a beta reader for The Young Writers Initiative. Writing has captivated her since she wrote her first story about farm animals and the wind in kindergarten. Now as a high school student, she has learned to appreciate this form of expression more. Besides writing, she enjoys studying foreign languages, learning about history, reading fantasy novels, playing the flute, and hoarding stationary. With TYWI, she hopes to help young writers express themselves better, offer them the guidance she would’ve wanted when she first began writing, and make this a safe space for writers to share their work.
