Harsha Venkataraman
Beta Reading Assistant Internal Director
Harsha Venkataraman is an Indian-American student from Texas. She enjoys bringing her knowledge and interests to her poetry and prose; the musicality of good dialogue, the twist on the structure of an interesting poem, and the balance between flowing and sparse imagery can all be found within her work. She is often caught avoiding one form with the other. Ecological themes can be found across her work, as environmentalism is a strong part of the core of who she is. She can be frequently found out in nature, except during allergy season.
Harsha has always had a soft spot characters with complex relationships to their identity, and aspires to create stories where people feel reflected in a diverse range of characters. She loves diving into immersive high-stakes adventures, in addition to mapping out character arcs and story structure. Strong dialogue and voice are always at the forefront of her mind. To her, writing is more than getting her ideas on the page. She spends a vast majority of her time editing and reshaping the mound of clay that is her novel into a sculpture with interwoven details from many, many drafts.
When she's not catching scraps of inspiration for poetry, Harsha is working on her Young Adult Fantasy novel. You can find more of her work in The Lunch Ticket, The Hearth Mag, The Paper Crane Journal, and the LASA Composer.
