Be a Book Reviewing Volunteer

Applications are open!
What is it?
It's like beta reading but for book reviews! You will have a selection of books, either requested by young writers or suggested by the directors, to review. As we grow, we may have the option of making video reviews, but for now, your review will be published on our Juven website, juvenpress.com

Why apply?
Book reviewing is going to be integral for our magazine, Juven. Juven is where all book reviews will be posted for public viewing, so we expect them to be thoughtful and informative to both the reader and fellow writers. Because of this, we have a book reviewing bootcamp, and give you insider knowledge and resources so that you can further your own opportunities as a reader, such as joining street teams, joining booktok and booktube, and getting free galleys. We want to help you achieve your dreams.

What do you review?
You will always be able to choose what you want to review out of a catalog of books that we offer. These reviews will be thoughtful comments on the book, your views as a reader or writer, and more. At times, we may suggest generic books with large followings, but through the lense of a writer so that we can help our community by teaching strategies and techniques specifically from books.

Bootcamp
TYWI book reviewing applicants go through a 2-week bootcamp where we see your skill and help you give honest reviews. Depending on what we see, we will either let you through or keep training you. For bootcamp, you will be required to join the Discord group.
