Beta Reading External Director: The beta reading program is one of TYWI's oldest programs. Our previous beta reading director external has been promoted. This position entails the following.

Public Relations Director: Our newest addition to our Marketing Department. The PR Director deals with a couple things.
Education Director: The Education Director handles our IG Live Workshops, our volunteer workshops, our summer programs, and our lesson plans for our local workshops! It's a pretty intense job, but it's fully worth it. Education is such an important pillar to our mission, so we really value you! Of course, if you need help, we'll be glad to lend a hand, but you do need to be well versed in education and have a good amount of time to fulfil the responsibilities of this role.

Engagement Director: This is the funnest role by far! TYWI wants to add more things than benfits and hours to being involved. Instead, we're creating a community. And engagement director will do the following:

Executive Board: The Executive Board currently consists of the Executive, Creative, and Technology Director.
Services Department: The service board is composed of our editing, beta reading, book reviewing, and cover designing services.
Marketing Department: This department deals with marketing. This includes our two marketing directors, our PR director, and Engagement Director
Education Department: This will be composed of the education director and the publications director.
Board of Graphic Design and Art: The board of graphic design and art deals with artistic submissions to our literary journal. They also handle the editing and reviewing of comics and other forms of artistic digital writing. They should appease any issues with the group and properly vet or review artistic submissions.
Commitment
Being a board member is an honorable, yet tasking job. It requires responsibility and dedication to the organization. Please do not apply if you do not have 4-5 hours a week at least to spend for The Young Writers Initiative. Also realize that resigning as a board member will require one weeks notice. Being a board member will look good on resumes, college applications, and will provide you with valuable leadership skills. The Executive Director will gladly award you with recomendation letters and such.
Communication
Staying in contact is a very important aspect of this organization. For these reasons, you will be required to download/access Slack and Discord, our team management platforms! Both are mandatary.
Asana will also be a method for us to keep track of projects. It is mandatory if you have access to it.
Temporary Break Policy
We understand things happen, so we are very giving with our break policy. All we ask of you is this: communicate with us.
Removal from position
If you do not respond to any communication for two weeks without notice, you will be removed from the position.If you are unable to complete your job at the standard we uphold, we will give you a warning before removing you. If you behaved inappropriately or rudely to fellow board members, volunteers, or clients, you will be removed. Removal will erase all of your service points and benefits.

- Online Application: here you will answer some information, upload your resume, indicate the best time for an interview, and write some short responses to some questions we have. You will be taken to a form, where you will fill out the entire first section. Then, depending on your desired position, you will fill out the applications for that position. You DO NOT have to fill out all the sections unless you are interested in all the positions
- The application will ask for a resume. This isn't mandatory
- The application will ask for a referall. If you do not have one, it will not hurt one. Also optional.
- Interview: We will host online interviews through zoom in your preferred time and ask a series of questions. It should be no longer than 15 minutes. Everyone may not get an interview.
